ScienceDirect offline Saturday 8/25/12

We are keen on making our users’ experience of the SciVerse suite of products as smooth, friendly, and effective as possible. For this reason we listen to our user’s feedback and plan new releases to improve the functionality. To implement these changes, we occasionally need to schedule an outage.

ScienceDirect, Scopus, Hub, Applications, SciVal, Journals Consult and the Admin Tool are expected to be offline and unavailable for approximately 19 hours beginning Saturday, August 25th, 2012 for scheduled maintenance for a new release.

What are the changes you will see with this new release?

ScienceDirect:    Effortless access to relevant information thanks to a new design for journal article and book chapter pages as well as improved user experience for RSS feeds, image search, and other features.

Scopus:               Easy updates with Alerts Features functionality improvement.

Hub:                    Faster and friendlier search capability through several new features.

  • New York Time: 7:30 AM EDT Saturday, August 25th – 2:30 AM EDT, Sunday, August 26th
  • London Time: 12:30 PM GMT Saturday, August 25th – 7:30 AM Sunday, August 26th
  • Singapore Time: 7:30 PM SGT Saturday, August 25th – 2:30 PM SGT Sunday, August 26th

ScienceDirect file in S.Solutions has been updated

Hello.

The “SUNY Science Direct Titles” file in Serials Solutions has been updated.  This knowledge base strives to be the most accurate and up-to-date listing of SUNYConnect ScienceDirect titles and holdings.

Currently it is tracking 2321 titles.  New titles for 2012 and changed/ceased titles have been incorporated in the update.

ScienceDirect list updated in Serials Solutions

Hello,

The “SUNY Science Direct Titles” database (in Serials Solutions) has been updated.  This SUNYConnect-specific knowledge base strives to be the best representation of these licensed e.journals and the title-specific holdings needed for linking to the full-text.

The database now tracks 2253 journals (open and closed holdings).  The August 2011 update utilized the most recent information from Elsevier about new, changed, transferred titles.

If you have questions, please get in touch.  Changes/additions to “SUNY Science Direct Titles” should be sent via a spreadsheet that includes ISSN information.

ScienceDirect title list updated (360Link, etc.)

Hello.

The “SUNY Science Direct Titles” list in Serials Solutions has been updated with 2011 (1st quarter) information from Elsevier (new titles, changed titles, transferred titles).  The database (used by the SUNYConnect link resolver 360Link) tracks open or closed holdings for 2227 ScienceDirect titles and strives to be as accurate a representation of the SUNYConnect version of ScienceDirect as possible.

ScienceDirect offline Feb.26 (and 3/13 early a.m.)

Dear Customer,

Please note that we have two scheduled outages in the coming weeks.

The Admin Tool and the following SciVerse products are expected to be offline and unavailable for approximately 12 hours on Saturday, February 26th due to scheduled upgrades:

  • ScienceDirect
  • Scopus
  • Hub
  • Journals Consult
  • Applications (for beta participants)

Down time by region is expected to be as follows on February 26th, 2011:

  • U.S. Eastern Standard Time (EST): 8:00AM EST – 8:00PM EST
  • Greenwich Mean Time (GMT): 1:00PM GMT, February 26th – 1:00AM GMT, Sunday, February 27th
  • Singapore Time (SGT): 9:00PM SGT, February 26th – 9:00AM SGT, Sunday February 27th

In addition, SciVerse ScienceDirect and Journals Consult will be unavailable on Sunday, March 13th from 3:00AM EDT to 5:00AM EDT (7:00AM GMT-9:00AM GMT / 3:00PM SGT-5:00PM SGT) due to scheduled maintenance.

ScienceDirect, Scopus, Journals Consult and the Admin Tool will be unavailable due to scheduled maintenance for approximately 9 hours on Saturday, 28 August.
