• SARANAC: ALF, CER, CNG, FIN, GCC, JAM, POT

Your Aleph v.18 DEV region will be taken down May 2 prior to 5:00am. The v.20 upgrade activities will then begin. Please review the Upgrade Process Summary for the DEV region that is available on the Version 20 Upgrade Schedule. The schedule is available at:
http://www.sunyconnect.suny.edu/olisdocs/public/Aleph/Version_20_Upgrade_Calendar/

**********IMPORTANT**********
The v.20 updates to the Aleph tables on the DEV side will become the basis for v.20 tables updates on the PROD side. Once your v.18 DEV side is shutdown, DO NOT make changes to your v.18 PROD side Aleph tables. If you do continue to make changes on your v.18 PROD side AFTER your v.18 DEV sides is shutdown, you ****MUST**** keep track of those changes and redo them again once your v.20 PROD side becomes available.
You can continue all work done through the Aleph Staff GUI such as adding and editing bibliographic records and functions associated with circulation, course reserves, acquisitions and serials.
**********IMPORTANT**********
The v.20 DEV region will be unavailable for approximately one week. This time is needed to create the v.20 environment that will be the basis for the v.20 updates to the campus PROD region. When the v.20 DEV side becomes available for review, a message will be posted to SUNYLMS and a direct email will be sent to the campus Aleph contact. At that time the Aleph campus contact will receive a packet of information related to installing the v.20 client, using Angel for Aleph v.20 update training, the WebOPAC environment, lists of any Aleph tables that campuses might need to review, and other pertinent material. For a list of campus contacts go to the file Contacts shared servers 2011mar22.xlsx located at http://www.sunyconnect.suny.edu/olisdocs/public/Aleph/
Information on what is new in v.20 is available at http://www.sunyconnect.suny.edu/olisdocs/public/Aleph/Verson_20_Ex_Libris_Training_Materials/ .

Access to Ex Libris Doc Portal has Changed

Ex Libris recently announced the implementation of a new customer center available at http://www.customercenter.exlibrisgroup.com/. This will directly impact access to the Ex Libris Doc Portal. Current access will be eliminated (per Ex Libris) as of the end of April. A personal account needs to be created. PLEASE READ the appended message from Anat Kuper, Ex Libris VP of Global Customer Services.

The OLIS does not have any additional information other than what is indicated in the posting below. If you have any questions on this please contact Ex Libris at customer.center@exlibrisgroup.com.

Thanks
Maureen

Subject: Presenting the New Ex Libris Customer Center

Dear Colleagues

Ex Libris is pleased to present the new customer center for the Ex Libris customer community, which will be launched tomorrow [date of posting was 4/4/2011].

The customer center will include a brand new and simpler platform for the documentation center, together with access to a range of customer services and the Learning Center. The portal will offer a single sign-on to EL Commons, eService and the new documentation center. By offering a single sign-on, and by gathering all the sites and services used by customers in one location, the portal will provide a smoother user experience for busy, professional users of our systems. The new documentation center in particular delivers an enhanced search functionality and easier navigation to help you find the items you need quickly and easily.

The customer center will be available at http://www.customercenter.exlibrisgroup.com/, or by clicking on the Customer Center button anywhere in the Ex Libris web site.

Initially, please log in to the customer center with your institution’s doc portal login details (not your individual eService account details). You may then create a personal account-using your institutional email address-which enables a single sign-on to the sites listed above. If single sign-on doesn’t work for your new account, please report the problem to customer.center@exlibrisgroup.com, but in the meantime, you will still be able to go directly to the various sites and log in as you always have. From the end of April, the current doc portal will no longer be in use.

We hope that you will find the new customer center easy to navigate, attractive, and useful for your day-to-day interaction with Ex Libris and its solutions. If you have any questions, please contact customer.center@exlibrisgroup.com.

Best Regards,

Anat Kuper
