SARANAC – February 27, 2008 Downtime and Maintenance

TO:  Campuses with Aleph regions housed on the SARANAC server

ITEC will be migrating Saranac to a new disk storage system.  The work will start at 12:00am on Wednesday, February 27, 2008.  This means Aleph will be shut down as of midnight.  The process is expected to take 8 – 9 hours.  The Aleph regions on Saranac are expected to be back up between 8:00am and 9:00am on Wednesday morning.

Please note:  activities (overdues, call slips, etc.) scheduled in the job_list during this timeframe will not run while Aleph is shutdown.  Campuses can wait until the following day for the jobs to run or submit a Footprints request.

The Delaware, Seneca, and Union Catalog servers will also be moved to the new disk storage system.  The schedule for these servers is listed below.  Updates related to these servers will be posted closer to their scheduled dates.

Delaware – March 5

Seneca – March 12

Union – March 6 at 3:00pm through March 7 at 7:00pm
